N-doped carbon nanotube dispersed ZnO nanocomposite for enhanced performance in optoelectronics |
초록 |
Traditional wide-bandgap metal oxides exhibit low electrical conductivities, setting intrinsic limitation for charge transport enhancement in organic optoelectronics. Here, we present significant improvement of charge transport characteristic by dispersing chemically doped CNT in solution processable ZnO to form nanocomposite layer with superior electrical conductivity. N-doped CNT dispersed in ZnO matrix results in a composite that shows lowered work function that match very well with the conduction band of ZnO. Resulting nanocomposite layer revealed a five-fold enhancement of electron mobility and inverted OLEDs utilizing ZnO/N-CNT nanocomposite electron transport layers showed more than two-fold enhancement of maximum luminance and efficiency. This work function tunable, chemically doped CNTs will offer unprecedented opportunity to enhance the device performance of various organic and inorganic charge transport materials with different energy levels. |
