제목 | Synthesis and Characterization of gold nanoparticles by the reduction of Chloroaurate ions by the amino acid, Asparagine |
초록 | The work reported here describes the synthesis of water dispersible amino-acid protected gold nanoparticles by spontaneous reduction of aqueous chloroaurate ions by Asparagine (Asn). Water dispersible gold nanoparticles may also be obtained by the reduction of chloroauric acid followed by capping with asparagine. Characterization of the Asparagine reduced and asparagines capped gold nanoparticles were carried out by UV-visible spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and transmission electron microscopy. The use of amino acid in the synthesis and stabilization of gold nanoparticles in water has important implications in the development of bioconjugate materials. The self-assembled monolayers (SAM) thus formed in asparagines capped on gold nanoparticles is chemically stable under laboratory conditions, and flexible in introducing various functional groups, resulting in different surface properties. * To whom correspondence should be made: [email protected] |
