제목 Aging behaviors of carbon fibers by various surface treatments
초록 In this work, aging behaviors of carbon fibers (CF) by various surface treatments were investigated. The aging behaviors of CF surface changes were investigated in terms of surface treatment methods and storage temperature of the treated CF. The aging behaviors with methods and temperature were evaluated by dynamic single fiber contact angle and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The decrease in surface energetics of the CF was caused by the fall-off of hydrophilic groups on the fibers surfaces during aging reactions. Each surface treatment method showed relatively different aging behaviors. Most of all, aqueous-based methods showed better aging-resistance than that of gas-based methods in this work.
