Ultra-violet(UV) curable resins composed of poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate as an oligomer, isobornyl acrylate as an acrylate monomer, triallyl isocyanurate as a crosslinker and IRGACURE 819 as a photoinitiator were prepared, and then cured by exposure to 365-nm UV irradiation. The UV-cured specimens showed very low resistance against acid and alkali solutions, due to their hydrophilic nature. To increase hydrophobicity, hydrophobic silicone diacrylate was mixed with poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate, and the resulting UV-curable resins with different content of crosslinker were used for measuring physical properties after curing them. By adding the hydrophic silicone diacrylate, acid and alkali resistances were improved. Physical properties of the cured specimens with the mixed oligomers were also investigated. |
