Polyurethane(PU) microcapsule containing IPDI have been fabricated by interfacial-emulsion polymerization and applied in a self-healing system. By introducing functional group into the polyurethane shell, the range of applicants will be broadened. Therefore, azide group was introduced into the shell of the PU microcapsules so that it could easily click reaction with alkyne group. Interfacial emulsion for encapsulation consists of water and oil phases. In the oil phase, there are IPDI, chlorobenzene, and prepolymer which polymerized by poly(GAP-co-THF)diol and isocyanate. Also, the water phase contains surfactants and chain extender. The preparation of PU prepolymer and microencapsulation were proved by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), and microscope such as optical and electron. |
