제목 | Sulfonated Fluorinated Graphene Oxide/Nafion Composite Membrane for Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Applications |
초록 | The ‘nano sheet’ nature of the GO derivatives, therefore, is expected to give an excellent barrier property to a composite material containing GO derivatives. Nafion is the most frequently used as the proton exchange membrane material due to their good proton conductivity, and excellent chemical and mechanical stabilities. But vanadium migrates across the membrane to the other side causing ohmic loss in the vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB). In order to overcome this problem, therefore, many efforts have been made to modify Nafion by blending with inorganic materials. In this study, fluorinated Graphene Oxide (fGO) with different fluorine content was prepared from rGO and HF, then the product was sulfonated in order to prepare a GO derivative (sfGO) which is expected to have an improved proton conductivity in addition to the better miscibility with Nafion. Adaptability of composite membranes was investigated in terms of proton conductivity, water uptake, and vanadium permeability. For all these membranes pristine Nafion membrane was used as a reference. |
