제목 Study on phenol novolac epoxy curing using an electron beam irradiation
초록 Phenol novolac epoxy was used in many applications such as heat resistant adhesives, automobile part, sports goods due to their good heat and chemical resistance. In order to curing this epoxy, thermal hardener and accelerator are used. In this study, curing process of phenol novolac epoxy was accomplished using an electron beam with two kinds of cationic initiators; triarylsulfonium hexafluoro-antimonate salts and triarylsulfonium hexafluoro-phosphate salts. Electron beam condition was 1 MeV and 7.46 mA, and 100 ~ 500 kGy were irradiated on each specimen. The gel fraction of the cured epoxy was determined as followed ASTM D2765-95, and their thermal properties were investigated using a differential scanning calorimetry.
