제목 Red-Fluorescent Organic J-type Nanoparticles Capable of Fluorescence Detection of Amyloid-β Aggregates
초록 Monitoring the amyloid-β (Aβ) aggregation processes can enable early diagnosis and treatments of neurodegenerative diseases. We synthesized a series of donor-acceptor-donor molecules (SN1-5), and employed their fluorescent molecular assemblies for detection of Aβ aggregation. Among the SN compounds, SN1 and SN2 self-assembled into J-assemblies which showed strong and red-emissive nanoparticles in buffered solutions. X-ray crystal structure analyses revealed a 15.2° slip angle of the transition dipole moment along the intermolecular J-axis. Upon the addition of Aβ species, SN2 produced fluorescence ratiometric responses. Mechanistic studies indicated that the fluorescence responses could be ascribed to hydrophobic interactions with Aβ aggregates at the surface of the probe assemblies.
