Electronic wastes (E-Wastes) has been emerging as a serious environmental issue threateningthe ecosystem. Exotic animals’ ingestion behavior toward conventionalplastics provides a new way to treat the plastic pollution issues. Especially, superworm shows an ultrafast ingestion behavior to plastics and montmorillonite(MMT). Here, we introduce severalelectroactive MMT composites using either dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solvent orvarious organic semiconductors. MMT/DMSO composites show excellent ionicconductivity at room temperature and exhibit thermal stability, opticaltranslucency, mechanical toughness, and flexibility, due to thenano-confinement effect between MMT platelets and DMSO molecules. MMT/organicsemiconductor composites exhibit both conductivity and water stability, thuscan be used as an electrode for an electrochemical system. Also, it has exceptionalasymmetric conductivity, thermal stability, mechanical toughness due to thelayered nanostructure. |
