제목 Dispersion Polymerization of MMA using Poly(styrene-b-4-vinylpyridine) Obtained by a RAFT Method
초록 The narrow molecular weight distribution of amphiphilic block copolymers consisting of hydrophilic 4-vinylpyridine and hydrophobic styrene using the 4-toluic acid dithiobenzoate were synthesized by a RAFT method. This P(S-b-4VP) block copolymer is used as a reactive stabilization for the dispersion polymerization of MMA. As a result, 1 ~ 4 μm of microspheres using 1, 4, and 10 wt% block copolymer relative to monomer were obtained. In particular, when 4 wt% of the block copolymer relative to the monomer was used, very narrow particle size with 3.31% of Cv with 2.72 μm was obtained. Thus, the segment containing PS has an ability to anchor to the surface of polymer particles, while the P4VP segment extends into the continuous phase.
