In this study, Ni-impregnated pellet-type carbon nanotube (CNT)-filled polypropylene (PP) nanocomposites were prepared with various nickel and CNT content in the composites, and their mechanical strength and thermal conductivity were studied. Pellet-type CNT (P-CNT) was prepared by a home-made pellet machine with a water and ethanol binder. Nickel coating was accomplished by a well-known chemical reduction method. The mechanical strength and thermal conductivity of the nanocomposites were studied by methods and a hot-plate type thermal conductivity meter, respectively. From the results, it was found that the mechanical properties and thermal conductivity of the composites were enhanced with increasing metal and CNT content. |
