Hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) with unique nanostructures and high aspect ratio have been the topics of extensive research in thermally conductive applications because h-BN can form thermal conduction paths in matrix. By adopting mechanochemical bonding techniques using plasma treatments, we demonstrate a simple way to achieve significant improvements in both thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of Nylon / glass fiber (GF) / h-BN composites. Thus, this approach improves the dispersion of GF and h-BN in polymer matrix, resulting in excellent mechanical properties and thermal conductivity. |
