Today nano-structured materials are providing a high surface area to volume ratio. Besides the large surface area they provide, nano-structured materials can be embedded in organic/inorganic semiconductor/insulator materials to obtain a high interface area that can be exploited in, for example, the following optoelectronic and electronic applications: (a) charge separation functions for such applications as photovoltaics and detectors; (b) charge transfer functions for such application as chemical sensors.Among many deposition techniques, the electrochemical deposition technique can be easily utilized to control the size, number, and composition of nano-structured materials by adjusting deposition conditions including applied charge and potential. In addition, this approach can enhance the electrical and physical properties according to functionalized nano-structured materials. |
