제목 pH-controllable Zwitterionic Carbon Dot-based Photoluminescent and  Photothermal On/Off System for Cancer Theranostics
초록 Photoluminescent (PL) and photothermal on/off system for cancer theranostic was constructed by manipulating loading-unloading IR825 on pH-responsive zwitterionic carbon dot (ZCD). IR825 was loaded into ZCD (IR825@ZCD) at pH 7.4 and causing quenching of PL and photothermal heat due to FRET mechanism. In cancer microenvironment, IR825@ZCD was PL and photothermal heat were activated owing to the release of IR825 from ZCD as the ZCD hydrophobicity was changed. IR825@ZCD showed selective imaging and NIR-induced photothermal therapy (PTT) towards cancer cells with high killing efficiency compared with normal cells. Moreover, in vivo study demonstrated effective treatment in tumor-bearing mice, indicated by significant decrease of tumor size after 12 days of treatment. Thus, this system offers new method for selective cancer theranostics. This work was supported by Korea National University of Transportation in 2021.
