제목 | The effect of MMT modification for mechanical properties of PP/MMT composite |
초록 | PP is a polymer widely used due to its low cost, chemical resistance, and UV stability. It is often combined with other materials for various applications. MMT is a filler of layered silicate structure that can compensate for the lack of mechanical properties of PP, but due to the poor interfacial interaction between PP and MMT, uniform dispersion in PP through modification of MMT and interlayer intercalation/exfoltaion is required for improvement of mechanical properties. In this study, for uniform dispersion and chain intecalation/exfolation, MMT is modified with APTES under various conditions and confirmed the modification and interlayer intercalation/exfolation behavior through FTIR, Contact angle, XRD, and TGA. After compounding modified MMT and PP using internal mixer, specimen will be produced using hot press to evaluate mechanical properties through UTM, abrasion performance through taber test, and morphology of fracture and friction surface through FE-SEM and AFM. |
