Solution process which provides an easy way to a large area manufacturing for organic light-emitting diode (OLED) has been attracted due to its possibility of reducing manufacturing costs. To fabricate multi-layer OLED devices through solution processes, charge injection and transporting materials need to exhibit solvent orthogonality with emission layer processing solvent. Especially, hole injection materials are required to have high hole mobility, proper energy level, good optical properties, and film uniformity. Poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS) that is a one of the most common hole injection material (HIM) has sufficient properties for HIM, however, high acidity reduces a lifetime of OLED devices. Herein, we designed and synthesized self-doping HIM with low acidity containing sulfonate groups. Sulfonate group brings about doping for enhanced electrical conductivity and solvent orthogonality. |
