제목 Preparation of Self-Emulsifying Drug Delivery System for Piroxicam ;In Vitro Transdermal Release and Permeation Studies
초록 The aim of the present work was to compare a self-emulsifying drug delivery system (SEDDS) with sample to predict transdermal efficiency of a series of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) : piroxicam, which has been well absorbed following oral administration. However its use has been associated with a number of undesirable side effects on the stomach, nausea, etc.. We have produced SEDDS containing piroxicam with various oils and surfactants. The permeation studies were carried out Keshary-Chien diffusion cells across hairless mouse skin and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis.In vitro, the transdermal penetration profile of piroxicam SEDDS was showed difference with the droplet size, oil and surfactant by the investigation of the emulsion formation. This result suggests a possible use of the patch as a transdermal delivery system of SEDDS.
