CdSe tetrapods (TPs) are of great interest as their unique four-armed structure enables facile charge transport regardless of orientation. When distributed in polymer matrices, TPs show inhomogeneous distribution due to their strong tendency to form aggregates. In order to achieve functional polymer/TP hybrid structures, controlling the spatial distribution of TPs within polymer matrices is essential. Herein, we report a simple method for controlling the dispersion behavior of TPs in block copolymer micelles. By dissolving CdSe TPs grafted with amphiphilic diblock copolymers in selective solvents, we prepared micelles with TPs distributed exclusively on the micellar surfaces. By casting such hybrid micelles on a substrate, thin films with selective distribution of TPs on the peripheries of the polymer micelles could be obtained. |
