Molecular Cooperative Assembly-Mediated Synthesis of Cu1.8S/g-CN Composite for Enhanced Solar Vapor Generation |

The development of high-efficient and eco-friendly photothermal materials is highly demanding for the practical application of the solar-thermal conversion process in seawater desalination, medical sterilization, and steam generation. Here, we fabricated a novel interfacial solar evaporator employing the copper-deficient copper sulfides (Cu1.8S) composited with visible light active g-CN. The molecular cooperative assembly between Cu2+ and triazine molecules enables the topochemical and stoichiometric synthesis of copper sulfides. The resulting Cu1.8S/g-CN composite displays broadband (200 nm~2500 nm) and strong light absorption. Therefore, the composite exhibits a solar water evaporation efficiency of 82.2% and desalination efficiency of 79% with superior cycle stability up to 96 h under AM 1.5G solar illumination. |
