제목 Evaluation of Sericin Microparticles as an Enzyme Immobilization Support
초록 Immobilization of enzyme on an insoluble support is usually applied in industry in order to recycle the enzyme. The performance of immobilized enzyme is highly dependent to the surface properties of the support. In general, more hydrophilic support is favorable since they maintain water molecules nearby the immobilized enzyme. In this study, we immobilized chymotrypsin onto sericin microparticles. Sericin is a silk protein and has high content of hydrophilic amino acids.. Sericin microparticle were prepared by an electrohydrodynamic spraying and chymotrypsin is immobilized with glutaraldehyde. We measured the enzyme stability and reusability in various conditions.
