In this study, we prepare the metal-mesh based transparent flexible heaters. The patterns with interconnected mesh structures (line width & thickness: 2.5 μm & 2.5 μm) on the flexible substrate are fabricated via roll-to-sheet soft-imprinting method. Microgrooves on the substrate are readily filled with silver nanoparticulate inks (KETI Ag ink, volume resistivity: 4.4 μΩ∙cm) through doctor-blade scraping technique. According to the components of organic additives in the ink, wettability between groove wall surface and ink is effectively tuned, such that Ag meshes fulfilled within the grooves are obtained. The metal-mesh based PET substrate shows a transmittance of approximately 90 % and successfully produces heat within 20 seconds at applied voltage (120 ºC @ 22 V, 80 ºC @ 15 V, 40 ºC @ 8 V). |
