Different from bulk polymer, thin film is influenced by two boundaries such as air and substrate. The interfacial interactions are involved at the substrate/polymer and polymer/air, even with the same chemical identity between the top polymer chains and the bottom brushes. We investigated the glass transition behavior of polystyrene (PS) film on the grafted PS-brush substrates by in-situ ellipsometry, where the brush thicknesses (or grafting densities) are varied. Thickness dependence of transition temperatures will be discussed. |
