제목 Synthesis and Characterization of New Green Iridium(III) complex for OLED
초록 Phosphorescent materials based on iridium(III) complexes have been widely investigated because of high external quantum efficiency compared to other organometallic complexes. The stable and high-performance fac-tris(2-phenylpyridine)iridium [Ir(ppy)3] is commonly used in OLED displays. Although the metal–ligand-based emission enables tuning of the emission color by introducing substituents in the ppy ligand, there are only few reports on increasing the green color purity. Generally, the emission wavelength of an Ir(ppy)3 complex is blue-shifted when an electron-withdrawing group is introduced into the phenyl moiety of ppy and an electron-donating group is added to the pyridyl moiety of ppy. To improve color purity and device performance, we designed and synthesized a new bulky iridium (III) complex by introducing the substituent with CF3 unit.
