Oxidized Carbon Black Reinforced Nafion Membrane Preparation and Characterization for PEM Fuel Cell Applications |

The Nafion membrane was reinforced with oxidized carbon black to increase the membrane properties.A carbon black was oxidized by nitric or sulfuric acid. Then the oxidized carbon black reinforced Nafion films are prepared by solution casting. The oxidized carbon black and the carbon black reinforced Nafion composites were characterized by FT-IR, Raman,TEM and TGA. The properties of the films were examined with methanol and water uptake and proton conductivity. The reinforced Nafion films have enhanced properties to applicable PEMFC. |
