제목 | Hierarchical Structure of Carbon Nanotube Bundles from Graphite Interlayers for Free-Standing Electrode of Lithium-Oxygen Batteries |
초록 | Lithium-oxygen batteries (LOBs) are the one of the key concepts of the next generation battery system because of their remarkable high theoretical energy density. Nevertheless, the current LOB technology encounters some critical issues. Electrically insulating discharge products cover the reaction site of the oxygen electrode as a result of gas-to/from-solid conversion reaction (xLi+ + O2 (g) + xe− ↔ LixO2 (s), x = 1 or 2) and it results the high overpotential. To overcome these problems, functional oxygen electrode with optimized morphological feature are needed. We report a suitable oxygen electrode material employing the carbon nanotubes/graphite bundle (CNTs/Gr bundle) for high performance LOBs. We synthesized the CNTs/Gr bundles via the facile CVD method and evaluated material properties and mechanical strength depending on the synthetic condition. The electrochemical performance of LOBs employing CNTs/Gr bundle is evaluated to assess their potential as oxygen electrode. |
