In this work, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) decorated poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) microspheres with core-shell structure were prepared and their physical and chemical characteristics were examined. The PMMA microspheres were synthesized using a dispersion polymerization method. For decorating PMMA surfaces by CNTs, amine group modification was applied to the CNTs to enhance of the CNTs onto PMMA. Finally, the composites dispersed in the fluoro-silane coupling reagent for increase the surface wettability of composites. The physicochemical properties of the nanocomposites were investigated by FT-IR, TGA, SEM, and contact angle measurements. As a result, the CNTs were well dispersed in the PMMA and the thermal stability of wettability the PMMA increased significantly. However, the electrical resistivity of the PMMA decreased after decorated with CNTs. |
