A spiropyran is a type of organic chemical compound, known for photochromic properties that provide this molecule with the ability of being used in medical and technological areas. Spiropyran has been introduced by sol-gel reaction using 3-(Triehoxysilyl)propyl isocyanate (ICPTES) as the pendent to the Waterborne polyurethanes (WPUs). WPU have been synthesized from polycaprolacton glycols (PCLs), Isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), dimethylol butanoic acid (DMBA), and ICPTES. WPU designed based on different contents of Spiropyran and different Mn of Polyol. The structure, particle size, thermal and mechanical properties of the WPU have been investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), Differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and Universal testing machine (UTM). The photoswitchig property experiments have been carried by UV-lamp (spectroline, ENF-240C). |
