제목 Influence of acid treatment on produced aligned carbon nanotube/PLA composites
초록 Despite superior properties of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), physical properties of the Aligned multi-walled CNTs (A-MWCNTs) / polylactic acid (PLA) composites are not improved significantly because interfacial bonding between the CNTs and the polymer matrix is weak. A-MWCNTs were prepared directly by using the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. A-MWCNTs were treated by a nitric acid to remove impurities and modified subsequently to improve interfacial bonding and dispersion of nanotubes in the PLA matrix. The functional groups on the surface of treated CNTs were investigated by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR). The surface modified CNTs were mixed into matrix by means of an internal mixer and the nanotube composites were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and Raman spectroscopy. The electrical and thermal properties will be further discussed.
