제목 Controlled growth of multilayered graphene at catalyst-substrate interface without intentional carbon feeding
초록 Preparation scheme of graphene has played a critical role to determine both cost and functional efficiency of graphene-based transparent/flexible devices. Unfortunately, conventional processes cannot escape from drawbacks including deleterious transferring and carbon source control. We demonstrate novel synthesis of multilayered graphene and its patterning directly at a designed interface between catalyst and substrate employing a tube furnace without intentional carbon feeding. Carbon atoms are supplied from impurities incorporated into the nickel catalyst that has significant solubility for exotic species. Intra-catalyst carbon atoms migrate along the grain boundaries resulting in atom piling up at the interface, thereby nucleating and growing the graphene crystals. Importantly, only pattering the catalyst guarantees the cloned patterned graphene directly on the substrate. Resultant graphene is analyzed multilaterally to identify the successful formation of multilayered graphene.
