Influence of initial and boundary parameters on the quality of the CFD model of drying
Three CFD models of concurrent spray drying process that differ in the assumptions concerning initial and boundary conditions for the continuous and discrete phases are discussed in the paper. In the calculations, the initial distributions of diameters and velocities of particular fractions, random spraying angle, heat losses to the environment and experimental moisture evaporation kinetics were referred to. It was shown that a proper determination of the initial conditions for the disperse phase and drying kinetics was of fundamental significance for the quality of CFD modeling of spray drying process.
