Important trends in the development of flexible plastic packaging also necessitate advances in the field of polypropylene. These are briefly presented for flexible and very stiff cast films. In addition, easy-opening, easy-to-handle and sterilisable packaging systems are an important development, which also calls for innovations in the material sector. Only the synergy between the polymer, the processing techniques and the applications will yield the maximum advantage for all the parties involved.
