PROCESS COMBINATION. Krauss-Maffei is the first company to successfully combine injection moulding and reaction technology with the processing of thermoplastics and polyurethane into a single multi-component system. This "flooding" of the thermoplastic part with PUR results in excellent surface qualities, which so far cannot be achieved with thermoplastic elastomers. At K2004 a plant will be displayed, in which an injection moulding machine KM 160-750 CX is linked to a PUR mixing and metering machine of compact design. During the exhibition, the cover of a seat-belt buckle lock employed in a luxury class car will be serving as an application sample.
