Possibilities of electrochemical removal of metals from chromium-copper carbon sorbents surfaces
Extending the earlier voltamperometric research, the possibility of metals removal from chromium-copper carbon sorbent surface by means of the electrolysis of H2SO4 and Na2SO4 aqueous solutions has been investigated. Elution effectiveness was checked by measurements of cathode mass Increase, polarographic examination of eluates, and catalysts content in the sorbent samples after electrolytic removal of metals. The content of metal Ions In aqueous extract from deactivated carbon sorbents has been determined with polarographic method. It has been stated that electrochemical removal of catalysts from sorbent surface might become an alternative to chemical desorption methods.
