Diaphragm cell redesign is the way to enhance the chlorine process efficiency
The copper plates which deliver the current to the cathode bobbin were suggested to be connected by means of bent fiat bars with the cathode cells on the surface of which water is reduced. This design would allow the current to be distributed uniformly along the height of these cells and thus the overall voltage drop on the electrolyzer to be reduced, and the consumption of electric energy to be diminished. The current density differences between the middle and the upper and the middle and the lower bands of the cathode would be reduced by a factor of 3.
