Technological aspects of using the coke-oven gas as a raw material for producing hydrogen
In 2004, Poland's cokeries gave ca. 4.4-10(9) m(3) coke oven gas, 25% of which could have been used for production of hydrogen or MeOH. Composition and applns. of the gas are reviewed. Tech. conditions for use of the gas as a chem. feedstock are discussed, esp. removal of impurities like H2S, COS, NH3, HCN, and hydrocarbons. Various purification methods are reviewed.
