The properties of monoallyl maleate and zinc oxide-modified ethylene-propylene copolymer and butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber
The maleate, 3, 5 or 7% (elastomer wt. basis), affected neither initial viscosity nor filter's (SiO2 30%) rheometric parameter, alpha(S.Wolff, Kautschuk u. Gummi Kunst, 23,7(1970)), nor vulcanization time of EP mixts. It raised the crosslink density The addition of ZnO raised the crosslink density of vulcanizates and reduced initial viscosity of rubber mix. The alpha-value rose significantly only in EP contg.5 g maleate and 2.5 g ZnO/100 g. The modifiers enhanced the tensile and the tear strength.
