The role of co-ion migration through ionic membranes in formation pure solutions by electrodialysis with double Na2SO4+2KCl -> K2SO4+2NaCl replacement
The Cl- and SO42- co-ion transport intensity across the Nafion 423 cation-exchange membrane and Na+ and K+ ions across the Neosepta AMX anion-exchange membrane in electrodialysis with double replacement was detd. The coion transport generated contaminations in all solns. flowing through the electrodialyser. The changes in contamination of the K2SO4 and NaCl products were quant. established. The degree of contamination was probably lower than that resulted in conventional metathesis.
