Development of processes for biomass conversion to syngas and hi, was presented. In particular, fast pyrolysis of biomass to a "biocrude oil" and gasification of the char suspension in the biocrude oil were described. The perspectives of the direct hydrothermal gasification of biomass in aq. medium and in supercrit. water were outlined.
