TiO2-SiO2 oxide composites impregnated with natural rubber latex
TiO2-SiO2 composites were Impregnated with natural rubber latex during their pptn. from aq. soln. of Ti(SO4)(2) with Na2SiO3 at 60-95 degrees C optionally in presence of com. non-ionic surfactants. The ppts. were analyzed for morphol. microstructure and particle size distribution. Colorimetric and elementary analyses were also performed. Addn. of the latex resulted in a hydrophobization of the oxide surface, acceleration of their sedimentation and a slight deterioration of their brightness. The presence of surfactants contributed to an improvement of the latex adsorption.
