Effect of type and concentration of organic solvent on usable properties of cenosphere-containing scouring milks
Twenty-nine scouring milks were prepd. by blending glycerol, lauryl alc. polyoxyethylene ether, Na citrate, acrylics and aq. soln. of NaOH (pH 8) with some org. solvents (CH(CH(2)OH)(2), i-PrOH, (BuOCH(2)CH(2))(2)O, rapeseed oil fat acids Me ester) (1-11% by mass) and addn. of cenosphere abrasive (grain size 10-500 mm, content 10%) and then studied for application and dispersion efficiency, fat emulsifying power as well as roughness and gloss of the cleaned ceramic surfaces. Some new test methods were developed and used in the study. The (BuOCH(2)CH(2))(2)O and rape-seed oil ester-containing prepns. (3% and 1%, resp.) showed the best properties.
