Quaternary and protic salts of 2-dimethylaminoethanol and its esters
NMe2(CH2)(2)OH (deanol) was esterified with AcCl and C9H19COCl to resp. hydrochlorides quaternized with Cl-CH2OC12H25. After exchanging the Cl anion to saccharate, acesulfamate, bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, trifluoroacetate, dicyanoimide, nitrate, chlorate, tetrafluoroborate and hexafluorophosphate anions, the resulting salts were analyzed for purity (thin layer chromatog.), content of cationic active substance (titrn.), optionally mp. and chem. structure (NMR). All C9H19-substituted low-melting salts as well as all ionic liqs. studied (except for hexafluorophosphate) showed an excellent antielectrostatic capacity (logarithm of surface resistance below 9, half-time of charge disappearance below 0.5 s).
