Effect of the phthalocyanine pigments on the properties of butadiene rubber
Three phthalocyanine pigments were synthesized by conversion of phthalonitrile with Zn dust, Na(2)S in o-Cl(2)C(6)H(4) in presence of MeCH(2)(OH)CH(2)OH, or with AlCl(3) and used as fillers of cis-1,4-polybutadiene rubber. The rubber mixts. were cured with (PhCMe(2)O)(2) in presence of ZnO and studied for thermal stability and flammability. The addn. of the pigments resulted in increasing the decompn. temp., O(2) index, and yield of the residues after thermal decompn. of the vulcanizate and the elastomer.
