Effect of repeated processing on properties of polypropylene nanocomposite
Polypropylene-matrix layered silicate-reinforced nanocomposite (corn. grafted polypropylene compatibilizer) was prepd. by injection molding, disintegrated and fivefold formed as test pieces by the same method to study the recyclability of the material. The multiple processing of the nanocomposite did not result in any substantial decrease of its mech. strength (except for elongation at fracture) and thermal resistance. An increase in crystallinity degree and melting flow index was however obsd.
