Glycerol soln. was mixed (Reynolds no Re(m)<100) in tanks equipped with Rushton turbines or turbine mixers to study the appearance of isolated mixing regions. Two toroidal regions formed above and below of the turbine impellers were obsd. A set of stable filament surrounding the torus was also found.
