The effect of filler-polymer interactions on mechanical properties of butadiene-acrylonitrile elastomer
(CH(2)=CH)(2)/CH(2)=CHCN rubber was filled with C black, N(CH(2)CH(2)OH)(3) or 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate disperging agents and (PhMe(2)Co)(2) in a lab. rolling mill at 40 degrees C, modified by grafting with 4-vinyl pyridine or 2-vinyl-4,6-diamino-1,3,5-triazine at 125 degrees C for 30 min in a lab. micromixer and then crosslinked in presence of S, mercaptobenzothiazol, ZnO and stearin at 160 degrees C. Two C black fillers were used after studying for Bu(2) phthalate adsorption capacity, aggregate size, rheolog. properties and zeta potential. The modification resulted in an improvement of mech. properties of the composite materials. The tensile strength of vulcanizates was higher when the C black was more active.
