Efficiency of the chromium(VI) removal from aqueous solutions by ion exchange process
Two corn. ion exchange resins were used for removal of Cr(VI) ions from aq. solns. at pH 2-8, contact time up to 4 h and initial Cr(VI) concn. up to 100 mg/L After contact time 1 h, the Cr(VI) concn. was decreased down below 2 mg/L at pH 3. Under flow conditions (filtration) the final Cr(VI) concn. was below 0.005 mg/L after throughput of 200-230 L The resins were regenerated with NaOH or NaCl solns.
