Synthesis and properties of quaternary ammonium salts with trimethylvinylammonium cation
(Me3NCH2CH2Cl)-C-circle plus Cl-circle minus was converted to 8 salts of general formula (Me3NCH)-C-circle plus=CH2 X-circle minus by reaction (i) with NaBF4 or Na-circle plus N-circle minus(CN)(2) in H2O and then with KOH (X = BF4 or N(CN)(2))), or (ii) with KOH in MeOH and then with K acesulfamate, Na saccharinate or Li-circle plus(CF3SO2)(2)N-circle minus (X = acesulfamate, saccharinate or (CF3SO2)(2)N), or (iii) with KOH in MeOH and then with HNO3, EtSO3H or 2,4-Cl2C6H3OCH2COOH (X = NO3, EtSO3, 2,4Cl(2)C(6)H(3)OCH(2)COO). The product yields were 87-98% independently on the synthesis method. The salts produced were studied for chemical structure, thermal stability and soly. in org. solvents. Some of the salts were ionic liqs.
