Ionic liquids as feeding deterrents for stored product pests
Twenty ionic liqs. (org. lactates and cyklamates) were used against granary weevil (Sitophilus granarius L.), beetles and larvae of confused flour beetle (Tribolium confusum Duv.) and the larvae of khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium Ev.) and evaluated by using lab. "choice" and "nochoice" tests. The tests confirmed a high feeding deterrent activity of the ammonium ionic liqs. comparable to the activity of azadirachtin. The type of anion had a relatively small effect on the activity of the liqs.
