Design of new cast aluminium materials using properties of monovariant eutectic transformation L reversible arrow alpha-Al+Mg2Si
Base works in the field of phase transformations in multi-component alloy systems have enabled to create a new group of cast eutectic aluminium alloys and to make possible the alternative alloying to expend the temperature range of functional applications of these alloys. The base of these alloys are monovariant eutectic alloys of the ternary Al-Mg-Si system with elevated melting point (up to 600 degreesC) and high volume part (up to 15 vol. %) of the strengthening phase. We have provided the task-oriented variety of physical and mechanical as well as casting properties of the alloys by means of corresponding choice of the base and alloying components of the alloy.
