Profile of Hg contents were detd. in samples of forest soil collected in 6 areas located in the southern Poland (main in the Upper Silesia). The ay. Hg content in the tested samples was more than 3 times higher than in the soils of central and northern Poland. The ay. Hg content in the org. and org.-mineral layers was resp. 53 times and 16 times higher than that in the bedrock.
